This year, why not think about setting New Year's Goals instead of just repeating New Year's Resolutions. I have included a re-cap of the past year FlyPen revolution in december 2005, Top Ten Fly pen searches for 2005. If you haven't read any of them, perhaps you should do so now to see what you missed. It's also a good time to re-read flypen information and prepare prepare for 2006 surprises and new cool gadgets.

Finally, this is the time of year we think about new beginnings. Perhaps you should take stock of your current flypen items and decide if it's what you want to be playing at this time next year. If you find the passion has gone out of the job for you, then you should consider starting the process now to look for something that lights your fire again. On the other hand, if you still love your Fly Pen, congratulation. Stick with it and make 2006 your best year yet.

The amazing $99.99 Fly Pen, designed for 9-to-14-year-olds, is a stylish fat pen with a small digital camera aimed along the ballpoint tip. It looks at what you write in English, and it's uncannily good at understanding it.

The pen talks to you through a small loudspeaker but, wisely, also includes earbuds, a decision that should save some parental sanity. It is powered by a single Duracel AAA battery.
Some things the Flypen lets you do out of the box:

1.Draw a calculator on the page. Tap a formula, and the pen will tell you the result.
2. Draw a series of circles. The pen will call out a state capital or state for each circle. Connect the correct state capital circles with the state circles while the pen times you.
3.Draw a small piano keyboard. As you tap the keys, the pen plays the corresponding notes.
For more meaty educational options, you need to buy add-on cartridges that plug into the top of the pen. Three fly cartridges priced between $24.99 and $34.99 teach spelling, math or Spanish.
The pen's limitation is that you have to use special paper, sold by Leapfrog, with a preprinted pattern of tiny dots that allows the camera to keep track of where it is on the page.

Ever wandered where Karmiel is located? Many people ask me about the citie's location and I have an easy answer - it is located in the beautiful valley of Beit HaKerem on the road Acco - Zfat. It is 45 km from Haifa and many people from Carmiel work and Study in the Northern capital of Israel. Karmiel has population of nearly 50,000. Nobody knows the real number as officails want 50,000 to be true number for budgeting and other purposes (railway? university) Many people moved to Nahariya because of the tax reduction and most of them were you ng couples who really wanted to stay in this beautiful city. Carmiel mayor (Adi Eldar) is strugling to bring tax reduction to Carmiel as well but city looks like a diamond amonng other developng towns. CXity is surrounded with arab villages that makes the scenery unique and nights loud with muadzin voices. You can hear clearly muadzin in Maaravit and Givat ram neighbourhoods.

For those who don't care about shabat travelling you have nice choice of shopping options - arab shops are open during weekends, Tiv Taaam and Keshet ( Musik's Shop), Keshet Givat Ram are open too. Castro Carmiel, Office Depot, Golf, Beitili and Super Pharm attracts Shabbat shoppers as those shops are outside of the inhabiited zone and may stay open during Saturday.

After reading about the Fly over the last several months, I had to go buy one just to satisfy my curiousity. I was first struck by the weight, I thought it would be much heavier and clumsy to use. But that is not the case - well done. Then I "tapped" through the initial settings card, and was impressed that it was recognizing the areas that were tapped. Immediately you are left thinking "how does this work?"

From there I wanted to check out the letter and word recognition. I wrote a letter, and it was announced back. Again, scratching head, "how'd they do that?" That was fine and all, but what I thought was more interesting were the game and educational sheets that were included. There is a map of the United States, and you can tap on any state and have the state or capitals aanounced. Games are "built-in" to this map, for instance you are told to tap on the correct state after a city is announced. If I tapped on the incorrect state, the FLY would say "try 200 miles northeast". Thought that was cool.

In addition to the map, there are crossword puzzles, quizzes, calculator, other puzzles, music games, weird sounds, schedulers, etc.
I didn't realize all this came with the FLY, and I was sort of blown away by the power of this pen at that time. My mind started to realize that there are numerous possibilities and uses for this device which will evolve over time. Carmiel?

Before trying out the FLY I was sort of skeptical, since it isn't your normal computer with a screen and keyboard, with all interaction being audio. But I was surprised to find myself immersed in the environment. This type of interaction completely makes sense for a range of applications such as those included with this pen.

My three year old (soon to be four) watched me and then started using it. He was very excited about it, and can only play with some of the applications right now. I have seen some reviews say it may be hard to use, but that is far from the truth. The kids will have no problems. If my three year old had no problems tapping on sounds, drums, countries to hear national anthems, then anyone can use this.

To sum up my review: Excellent job done, my hats off to the designer and all those responsible for taking this idea all the way. I'm looking forward to future software applications and to my child getting older!

My kid is now only 9 yr old, and he enjoys this new FlyPem Comp. This was a unique birtday gift, thanks Leapfrog for bringing gadgets to the kids life.

Sausage Puttanesca This sauce is named for ladies of the night. They would place pots of it in their windows to tempt men into the bordellos. I like it because it's spicy, fast and easy (...no disrespect to the ladies.)

2 tablespoons (2 turns around the pan) extra-virgin olive oil
4 to 6 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tin flat anchovy fillets, drained
1 /2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
20 oil-cured black olives, cracked away from pit and coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons capers
1 (32-ounce) can chunky style crushed tomatoes
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
A few grinds black pepper
1/4 cup (a couple of handfuls) flat leaf parsley, chopped
1 pound spaghetti, cooked to al dente (with a bite)
Crusty bread, for mopping
Grated Parmigiano Reggiano or Romano, for passing, optional
Serving suggestions: a simple salad of mixed bitter greens dressed with oil and vinegar, salt, and pepper, recipe follows
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add oil, garlic, anchovies, and crushed pepper. Saute mixture until anchovies melt into oil and completely dissolve and garlic is tender, about 3 minutes: your kitchen never smelled so good! Add olives, capers, tomatoes, black pepper, and parsley. Bring sauce to a bubble, reduce heat, and simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
Toss sauce with cooked pasta. Pass bread and cheese at the table and serve with a simple salad of mixed bitter greens dressed with oil and vinegar, salt, and pepper.
Cook's Note: Get your olives from the bulk bins in the market, rather than buying a jar. The unit price is always much less per pound and you can get just what you need for each recipe.

I think that desperate housewives is really good its like Footballers wives and has some great actors/actresses. Also, the gardener John (Jesse Metcalfe) is gorgeous. It's on for an hour and is really entertaining and has you sitting on the end of your seat to find out what happens next!

The lay-offs follow two months of negotiations with the workers and the Histadrut.
Delta Galil Industries (Nasdaq: DELT; TASE: DELT) will fire 500 of the 2,500 workers employed at the company�s six facilities in Carmiel. Carmiel district representatives of the Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) and Delta Galil�s management signed a special collective agreement to this effect during the course of negotiations over the past two months.
Delta Galil said that the agreement signed with the Histadrut and the workers committees was part of a general streamlining process designed to cut costs and improve the group�s competitiveness in order to adapt to changes in the company�s target markets around the world.
Delta Galil finished the first quarter of 2005 with a $3 million loss, compared with $4.1 million profit in the first quarter of 2004, despite a 14% rise in sales to $173 million.

Finally I've found the place on internet where I can show my small town i the Noirthern Israel - Karmiel. I moved here in 2000 and now I live in the new Carmiel neighbourhood, called Ramat Rabin.
